Selecting Key Smart Building Technologies for UAE Prisons by Integrating Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Fuzzy-TOPSIS

Prisons are the structures used for incarcerated inmates and often overcrowded understaffed. This leads to inhumane conditions increased violence. Smart building technologies can help alleviate these problems some extent improve communication between staff prisoners. However, selecting appropriate smart technology prison requires significant effort, knowledge, experience. The current study aims develop a decision-making model UAE prisons following analytical hierarchy process (AHP) fuzzy-TOPSIS. results of AHP revealed that main criteria, economical criteria were highest ranked with global weight 0.228, followed by engineering (global weights 0.203 0.200, respectively). For sub-criteria, category security was criterion 0.082 antihacking capability (0.075). Concerning final ranking fuzzy-TOPSIS, safety system highest-ranked (Ci = 0.970), fire protection 0.636) information network 0.605). To conclude, findings will assist policymakers authorities select most buildings.
